HOW WE GOT HERE
Our co-founder Claudia is Brazilian and is living for the past 15 years in The Netherlands.
“The love for wines started after I was living in The Netherlands. Here, the drinking culture is much bigger than in Brazil, while there we drink 2,1L/person/year, here the consumption reaches 25 liter per person per year!
I have a special passion for sparkling wines (called Espumantes in Brazil). They are inviting, they are festive. Try opening a bottle on a Friday end of day, I assure you your weekend will start much more fun 😀!”
In 2019 she met Hendrik Jan, the one who believed in this dream, and so, together they formed a partnership to bring the best of Brazilian wines to The Netherlands. In 2020, there was a plan formed and it became official! Brazilian Wine House was registered! But then, the global pandemic shook the faith of us all, but did not kill the dream. In 2021 as soon as the measures were made flexible the whole process re-started with a series of professional wine tastings. Sommeliers from Michelin star restaurants, chefs, restaurant owners and of course wine lovers participated in these tastings and helped us tailor our portfolio to what it is today. An official THANKS with capitals is in place to all professionals and friends who where there and helped us with their honest opinions. It was a party having you all! After these tastings we applied strict selection criteria and are proud to say that the best of Brazilian wines are now available to you!
With a motivated team, it is our goal to make these beautiful Brazilian wines available to you and put Brazil on the map as a known wine country.
