We are making a trip through Vale dos Vinhedos to visit the wineries we contacted previously and have decided to work with. Driving through the beautiful surroundings we realize more and more how many similarities there are with Southern Europe. If you said you were driving through France or Italy, you would believe it. We consider ourselves lucky people to be able to do this.
After driving and experiencing a wonderful landscape with beautiful mountains, we arrive at Vinicola Família Salton. If you were still thinking that wine in Brazil is new and small scale, you are now right off that thought. What an impressive entrance!
A WARM WELCOME
Our host, Cesar, who is the export manager at the winery, is waiting for us and we are received with a warm welcome. After months of talking via Teams and digital communication it is great to speak to each other face to face.
We are taken to a beautifully decorated sales and tasting room to taste some wines. We had already tasted many of the wines in The Netherlands in one of the tastings we organized… but Cesar insists that while we are there, we taste some additional wines. And, of course, we are only very happy to do so!
The result?? Couldn’t be different with those beautiful wines, we added a few more labels to our portfolio.
Next, we go to visit the wine cellars. Impressive and beautiful to see with the amazing history of this winery pictured on its walls and in every detail.
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
To close the day, one of the best bottles of Espumante was uncorked and with a handshake we seal the signing of the contract between Família Salton and Brazilian Wine House. Amazing moment!
The legendary words that then followed still give us goosebumps:
“Welcome to the family!”.
